The Centre de recherche en civilisation canadienne-française (CRCCF) is organizing a symposium September 22 and 23. It will look at the “Montfort moment” and the battle fought by Franco-Ontarians to preserve their right to receive health care in French in their province.

The University of Ottawa and the Moroccan embassy in Canada are celebrating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Canada this year. Together, we would like to mark the occasion by highlighting the crucial role of universities in advancing and disseminating knowledge by promoting critical thinking, free research and dialogue. 

The University of Ottawa educates tomorrow’s leaders, as the list of Bernard Grandmaître award recipients shows. Every year, these awards honour the achievements of people or organizations who’ve made an impact on the promotion and development of the francophone community in Ottawa.

What if moving online was the pandemic’s silver lining? Professor François Larocque and students enrolled in his CML 4519 Les droits linguistiques au Canada [Language Rights in Canada] course examined this idea when they tested the planctus application across Canada.

Many international students attend 91��Ʒ���ϳԹ� to study in French and to take part in the cultural, social, and academic Francophone activities on campus. Each year, mentors welcome international students into this large and diverse Francophone community. During this Mois de la Francophonie, we want to shine a spotlight on these mentors.

Each year, the President's Awards are presented to recognize the work of University of Ottawa staff who have consistently contributed to the enrichment of the university experience and the achievement of the T2030 strategic plan. For the first time in the University's history, the President's Awards include a Francophonie category.

Congratulations to Faculty of Education professor Mariette Théberge who was named one of the Members of Honour 2020-2021 by the Association Canadienne d’éducation de Langue Française (ACELF). As the former editorial board co-chair for the journal Éducation et francophonie, she was recognized for her exceptional contributions to the Association’s goals....

Vice-President, International and Francophonie Sanni Yaya invites the University community to collectively contribute to the various projects currently underway that aim to build a new Francophonie, one that will serve as a setting for personal growth, empowerment, and openness to the world.
