Abstract
In this talk, S铆lvia Melo-Pfeifer will focus on the intersection of language teacher education, multilingualism, and the use of creative, arts-based methods in professional development. More precisely, she will show how exploring creative approaches in language teacher education programs, such as drawing a linguistic autobiography and producing multilingual poetry, can foster teachers鈥 abilities to envision their future students, pedagogical contexts and teaching methods.

S铆lvia Melo-Pfeifer is a full professor of French and Spanish Didactics at the University of Hamburg (Germany). She has been using arts-based approaches to research multilingualism as lived my individuals and to uncover student teachers鈥 attitudes towards multilingualism and multilingualism in education. She is a member of the research group LiDS (Literacy in Diversity Settings).
