Mario Lamontagne earned his PhD in biomedical engineering from the 脡cole Polytechnique at the Universit茅 de Montr茅al. He is currently a professor emeritus of biomechanics at the School of Human Kinetics, University of Ottawa, with cross-appointments in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (biomedical engineering program) and the Faculty of Medicine鈥檚 Department of Surgery. He is also one of 100 members of the Hip Society and a fellow of both the International Society of Biomechanics in Sport and the International Combined Orthopaedic Research Societies (ICORS). Additionally, he is involved in numerous research societies related to biomechanics and orthopedics and is a past president of the Canadian Orthopaedic Research Society.
Professor Lamontagne鈥檚 research focuses on biomedical sciences and biomechanics, particularly on numerical and musculoskeletal modeling of human joints, the design and adaptive technology of prosthetics and orthotics, injury prevention and neuromuscular adaptation. He has published more than 100 refereed articles and over 400 refereed conference papers.
Professor Lamontagne is not accepting students for thesis supervision.
