Join us to celebrate World Children's Day 2024
Nov 20, 2024 — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On World Children鈥檚 Day, the Observatory on Human Rights at the UN and the Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory on the Rights of the Child (IRLRC) invite you to this event:

Join us to celebrate World Children's Day 2024
The Declaration of Geneva on the Rights of the Child is 100 years old (Declaration of Geneva, 1924). We have come a long way in making children the subjects of rights. Children's rights are constantly evolving to reflect the realities of today's world and the effects of these changes are not always predictable. Certain observations can also be made about the lack of effectiveness of these rights in specific areas. Moreover, some categories of children are still overlooked and do not receive legal protection of their most fundamental rights. The gap that still often exists between the formal legal framework and its practical implementation calls the system into question.
Join us for a presentation by Professor & IRLRC Founding Director Mona Par茅 followed by the signature of the Geneva Declaration for Children鈥檚 Rights (2024), an initiative spearheaded by Professeur Philip Jaff茅, Pilot at the Observatory and Member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
