Welcome to Graduate Studies in Law at the University of Ottawa! A joint endeavour of the Common Law and Civil Law sections of the Faculty of Law, we build upon the unique strengths and character of each section to offer programs at the master’s and doctoral level.

Graduate students benefit from diverse choices and opportunities through the collaboration of faculty members, with expertise in areas like International Law, Human Rights, Environmental Law, and more. Our programs

Graduate Studies in Law at the University of Ottawa offers programs at the master’s and doctoral level. While students can pursue the master’s and doctoral programs in any subject, we particularly emphasize the fields of international law and human rights law, as well the fields associated with our concentrations listed under the master’s program.

Sobirovs Law Firm Entrance Scholarship

This scholarship was generously donated by Rakhmadjon Sobirov, J.D. ‘11, and Sobirovs Law Firm to ensure that individuals from Central Asia admitted into the LLM program at 91��Ʒ��ϳԹ� can study in Canada and then share their knowledge and strengthen democratic structures and the rule of law in their home region.

Ian’s vision was to ensure that top students from around the world have the necessary funding and support to pursue their scholarly dreams researching legal, ethical and policy questions surrounding new technologies at the University of Ottawa Centre for Law, Technology and Society.

The Centre for Health Law, Policy, and Ethics (CHLPE) is offering two prestigious scholarships of $10,000 each to support LL.M. students whose research focuses on reproduction and health law, including issues like access to abortion, contraception, fertility care, coercive sterilization, assisted reproduction, and obstetrical violence.
