The Faculty of Medicine has established or grown a number of partnerships with leading international institutions. These programs serve to enhance our research capacity by working with leaders around the globe and furthering our strategic goals to further our strategic goals.

Canada-Japan Bilateral Program on Reproductive Biology and Human Reproduction

Originating from a collaboration between the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the partnership between the University of Fukui (uFukui) and the University of Ottawa (91精品黑料吃瓜) is centered on academic and research programs on human reproduction and reproductive biology. Created in 1999 and coordinated by the two universities under a renewed MOU, the research and academic network resulted in numerous workshops and collaborative research projects, joint publications and presentations at national and international meetings, faculty and student mobility and the development of new funding opportunities. In addition, virtual monthly joint research sessions between 91精品黑料吃瓜, uFukui, Fukui Prefecture University and Okayama University were organized to facilitate research collaboration and technology transfer. Reciprocal research personnel visits are planned for 2022-2023.

Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Collaboration between the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the University of Ottawa dates back to 2005 and has led to joint research initiatives in the field of Medicine on women鈥檚 health (ovarian cancer chemoresistance, polycystic ovarian syndrome) and systems biology. In 2017, the University of Ottawa and the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (member of CAS) funded the Joint Research Centre for Systems and Personalized Pharmacology to provide new research and training opportunities and develop new therapeutics and biomarkers for personalized medicine. The Centre鈥檚 scientific symposia - organized either in Shanghai or Ottawa - are great opportunities for networking and developing new projects.

Universit茅 Claude Bernard Lyon 1

The framework agreement between Universit茅 Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and the University of Ottawa signed in 2014 aimed to promote collaborative research, increase visibility for both institutions and train the next generation of basic and clinical researchers through an international environment. In 2017, teams from the Eric Poulin Centre for Neuromuscular Disease (CNMD, 91精品黑料吃瓜) and Institut NeuroMyoGene (INMG, uLyon) have signed a longstanding collaboration agreement through the International Associated Laboratory (LIA) JIN (Joint Institute for Neuromuscular research) supporting more than 16 collaborative research projects funded jointly by both universities.  In 2019, both Universities formalized the creation of a joint laboratory for neuromuscular research through their respective institutes, CNMD and INMG. The new Associated Laboratory Joint Institute for Neuromuscular Research facilitates collaboration and scientific exchange between France and Canada and joint research symposia offer opportunities to interact and develop new projects.
