Professor , a full professor at the School of Social Work and co-founder of the and the , has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal, recognizing his exceptional commitment to protecting children exposed to domestic violence.

Specializing in research on domestic violence and coercive control, Professor Lapierre plays a key role in advancing and mobilizing knowledge to better protect children and support professionals across various sectors. His work within the PEVC Institute, an independent and non-profit organization, directly contributes to improving practices related to the safety of children and parents who are victims of domestic violence.

This distinction, presented by the Honourable Anju Dhillon, Member of Parliament for Dorval鈥擫achine鈥擫aSalle, highlights the positive impact of his research and its recognition within the community.
