The growing sophistication and frequency of cyber attacks is driving demand for cyber security workers. Canada鈥檚 cyber workforce has been growing by 7% per year for the past five years and will count more than 28,000 workers in 2021. There is an urgent need for innovative technology, new legal frameworks, effective organizational responses, and training strategies to get ahead of the threats.

The University of Ottawa is building a cyber security hub on the 5th floor of our state-of-the-art STEM building that will bring together more than 40 of the University鈥檚 top academics from several faculties, including engineering, law, and business. The goal is to keep governments, organizations, and individuals one step ahead of cyber threats by funding research, developing the cyber security workforce of the future, and building critical infrastructure to support training.
