A diverse and inclusive campus

We are reIMAGINING our campus with a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and anti-racism and anti-oppression strategies are the foundation of that journey. Through outreach and ongoing consultations with students, staff, associations and clubs, we are bridging gaps that might otherwise never receive the attention they need.

The University of Ottawa has a robust plan and active working groups who are laying the groundwork that will instil sustained cultural change on campus and beyond.

EDI in Research

Implementation of a research support program for racialized researchers, so that a more equitable, diverse and inclusive research community is established.

Student Experience

Providing better support for members of our racialized communities, including establishing a mentorship program and dedicated mental health offerings as well as additional scholarships for racialized students. 

Employment Equity

Accelerate the hiring of professors of Black, Indigenous and racialized professors in the coming years.

Pedagogy

Program reviews to enrich curricula with more culturally diverse and inclusive practices (methodologies) and knowledge.
