Voices in Exile - Ignite Change Campaign 2023

Voices in Exile: Supporting a New Community of Activists

'Activists-in-exile' are advocates forced to leave their countries or origin for challenging injustices and who continue their activism in host countries like Canada. Despite their commitment and the value of their work, they face significant hurdles such as limited resources, network isolation, and safety concerns. This session will examine the experiences of these resilient individuals and the crucial support needed from immigration systems to enable their effective advocacy.
