The main area of my research examines the relationship between femininity and male virtus in the martial culture of Rome during the Republican period.  At the University of Ottawa, I teach courses on gender, the Roman Republic, Sparta, and the Hellenistic world.  I am also The Director of Outreach for the Museum of Classical Antiquities.

Hermann Amon specializes in political, military and administrative history of the Roman empire during the third century and Late Antiquity.

Dr Natalia Vesselova is Coordinator of the Vered Jewish Canadian Studies. Her fields of interest include comparative literatures; film and theatre studies; Russian, Polish and Jewish literatures and cultural studies, as well as English and Canadian literatures, with a special focus on Leonard Cohen and the Montreal Jewish poets.

My research interests include magic in Antiquity and medical terminology. I teach Greek and Roman history, medical terminology, and the history of magic.
