The Brain-Heart Interconnectome Caf茅 Scientific events are engaging, community-focused events designed to bridge the gap between science and the public. Events will be hosted in welcoming venues and bring together experts, patients, and members of the public to discuss innovative research on the connection between the brain and the heart. Each event will feature 3-4 speakers with interactive panel discussions and audience engagement. The events will highlight the ongoing BHI research, raise awareness of brain-heart conditions, and improve public knowledge of resources to improve brain-heart health.

The 37th Annual Ottawa Cardiovascular Research Day celebrates the region鈥檚 research excellence through moderated oral presentations and poster sessions. It is an excellent venue for trainees to showcase their outstanding projects and network with faculty and colleagues.
The event will feature keynote speaker , MD, MPH, MSc, presenting "Is AI worth its cost?"

Brain Health Research Day 2025

The Dr. Antoine Hakim Keynote Lecture will feature Dr. Sheila K. Singh, MD, PhD, FRCS(C), presenting on "Targeting Clonal Heterogeneity in Treatment-Refractory Glioblastoma with Novel and Empiric Immunotherapies." Dr. Singh is a Professor and Head of Neurosurgery, as well as a Professor of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences at McMaster University. She serves as a Pediatric Neurosurgeon at McMaster Children's Hospital and is the Director of the Centre for Discovery in Cancer Research. Additionally, she holds the position of Senior Canada Research Chair in Human Cancer Stem Cell Biology.
